Registration procedure at the University of Rennes
Registration and re-registration for the 2022/2023 PhD program at the University of Rennes 1 are possible from July 11, 2022 to November 30, 2022 at the Doctoral School secretariats (contact information, opening hours and closing hours below). The documents are also available on the ENT : https://personnel.univ-rennes1.fr/demarches-pour-une-1ere-inscription-en-doctorat
Registration for the 1st year :
For the 1st year registration, the file entry and the deposit of the supporting documents must be done on Amethis : https://amethis.doctorat-bretagneloire.fr/amethis-client. Additional documents to be completed can be downloaded from the application. An FAQ on how to use the application is also available online.
Re-registration in 4th year and above:
For registrations in 4th year and above, the application and the supporting documents must be entered on Amethis : https://amethis.doctorat-bretagneloire.fr/amethis-client. Additional documents to be completed can be downloaded from the application. An FAQ on how to use the application is also available online.
Important: The opinion of the Individual Follow-up Committee (CSI) is necessary for the ED to issue an opinion on your application for re-registration.
Re-registration in 2nd and 3rd year :
All students registering in the 2nd and 3rd year of the PhD program must register via INTERNET, subject to the approval of the doctoral school (Payment is made by credit card only).
Important : The opinion of the Individual Follow-up Committee (CSI) is necessary to obtain the opinion of the ED.
Doctoral students who are in one of the situations listed below must send the documents justifying their situation to the secretariat of the doctoral school:
students with French government scholarships: attestation of scholarships, students registered in a co-tutorship : certificate of registration in the home institution, students who have already registered for 2022-2023 in another institution and are also registering at Rennes 1: photocopy of proof of fees already paid for 2022-2023

Procedure for 2nd and 3rd year PhD students
Attention: The payment of the CVEC (Contribution de Vie Etudiante et de Campus) must be done prior to your registration.
Procedure for the re-registration by Internet with secured payment by credit card from the website : www.univ-rennes1.fr (Virtual credit cards are not accepted)
1 - Re-registration from your " STUDENT " Digital Workspace
- Any student who has forgotten his password and who has entered a private email address is autonomous to generate a new password:
1. "sesame.univ-rennes1.fr" or "ent.univ-rennes1.fr" "Welcome" "Sesame"
2. "Student manage my student account
3. "3. "Forgot your password?
4. Receipt of a one-time security code in the personal email.
- Any student who has not entered a personal e-mail address in his or her file when registering or who has never validated his or her Student Sesame must contact the doctoral school secretariat, which will issue a passport.
2 - Before connecting to the Internet, bring your credit card which you will need to pay the fees at the end of your registration.

You will be presented with the step you can register for. A certain amount of information about you from the previous year is displayed.
If your situation changes, make the necessary changes, otherwise you just have to validate these screens.
NB: if you change your thesis director, please contact the secretariat of the doctoral school.
You must also indicate the information concerning your CVEC certificate.
